Our History

Green Wave Medical was founded by Winslow Engel, M.D. in 2015 when he saw the overwhelming need for alternative solutions to chronic pain and other debilitating medical conditions in our leeward community. Originally making house calls, Dr. Engel quickly grew his vision into a small practice in Waianae.

In 2019, Dr. Engel retired from Green Wave Medical and turned the business over to Elizabeth Holgate, a friend and business colleague, who, in turn, hired nurse practitioner Victoria Habibi, APRN to take over Dr. Engel’s patients. At that same time, the lease renewal at the Waianae office was not approved, so Green Wave moved to a new office space in Aiea Town Square.

Although a lot has changed, our energy and passion for our patients remains the same! We believe that, in many cases, the benefits of medical marijuana outweigh the risks, when it is used legally and responsibly. It is our mission to make cannabis available as medication to all qualified patients in need.
